Faith Promise Giving
“…they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability.” 2 Cor. 8:3
Imagine God entrusting you with additional finances this year to give specifically for world missions! Imagine how your faith can grow as you watch Him provide from surprising sources.
A Faith Promise is a commitment of giving to world evangelism that is made in faith. Instead of waiting to respond to individual appeals of support, believers ask the Lord to give them an amount they can trust Him to provide during the course of a year. They then commit to that annual total as a “Faith Promise.” This differs from a “pledge” in that it is between you and God, and if that money does not come in you are not obligated to give.
Faith Promise giving is above and beyond regular tithing and giving to the local church. It can be a one time gift or given regularly. Here at First Friends when you give your tithes and offerings to our General Ministry Budget you are supporting many local missions in Canton and many around the world. The missions we support through Faith Promise are in addition to those we have committed to in the General Budget. We are believing together that God will do “abundantly more than we ask or think” (Ephes. 3:20).
Below you will see a list of the missions and ministries we have committed to this year in 2008. Many from our congregation have been making Faith Promise commitments for years. Their stories of how God has provided this “extra” income to give are inspiring. We would like to take this opportunity to invite more of you into this faith journey.
We would like you to consider joining us in supporting them in 2009. There is a Faith Promise commitment card in the tear off section of the bulletin. If God is leading you to participate please fill out the card and place it in the offering plate, keeping the reminder portion for you records.

- A special missions offering will be taken on Sunday morning, October 26 in order to meet our 2008 Faith Promise goal.
* Our target goal for that offering is $10,000.00 - Children will be receiving an offering on Sunday, October 26 and 100% of that offering will go towards additional language training for Victor and Lori Tovar in India.
