On Sunday October 5th, First Friends Church hosted our first annual Harvest Festival at our new 55th street and Market home.
Joe Linder cooked up over 450 hot dogs and we estimated a total of over 600 people joined the event. Inflatable bouncers donated by Solid Rock Sports kept children (and some adults) busy all evening long. Our First Friends’ Bluegrass Life Group supplied some great music and hymn.
Mike Bernhardt provided a hay ride which circled our entire 50 acres of property. Other attendees enjoyed playing corn hole, horse shoes, volleyball, football toss and even a few games of kickball.
God provided a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and great weather. Even when the day did cool off, people gathered around the campfire to keep warm and toast marshmallows. As folks were leaving, many commented that the most enjoyable part of the event was the wonderful time of fellowship with both church family and new friends.
The First Friends Marriage and Family Ministry team hopes to continue providing our congregation with opportunities for our families to have fun and fellowship throughout the year.
Many thanks to all who came, served, and enjoyed this time of fun and fellowship!
