In September, I will be introducing a new theme for our church this year, "Our Story for His Glory". We all have stories about how God has worked in our lives. As we tell those stories we are unveiling God's radiant "glory". God's glory is the evidence and experience of Jesus working in our lives.
The glory of God dispels the darkness of sin, clears away the clouds of confusion, lights our paths into the future, uncovers masks of fear, pride and shame, fills our suffering with purpose, and reveals who God is to those around us.
We are also going to be looking at the Bible as the "Story of God". Throughout the year we will be focusing on how God's Story impacts our stories. We each need to find our place in His Story, and then we can help others find theirs.
Isaiah 60:1-2 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you."
2 Corinthians 3:18 And
we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed
into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is
the Spirit.
